This breed is known by many names: Central Asian Ovcharka (CAO), Central Asian Shepherd Dog (CAS or CASD), Alabai (Alabay), Aziat, or Sredneaziatskaya Ovcharka (breed name with the international registry, FCI). Whatever the "official" name in various countries of the world, the CAO/CAS/Alabai remains an awesomely powerful natural guardian, with skills honed through the eons. To survive some 4000-plus years, however, requires more than one talent. In today's mechanized world, the versatility of this breed is being demonstrated successfully by some owners who use the dogs in Therapy Work, as loving & devoted family companions, and in the more demanding training required for Protection Sport dogs.

Hello!!! Welcome to the Site of Max-O-Magic Oaks Central Asian Shepherd Dogs Kennel!

My name is Victoria Evans, and my shepherd dogs and I live here in the hills of Nort Georgia in the southern United States. Our home is isolated, even by the standards of a small rural community, and my family of CAO has acres of land to run and explore and protect against predators as the breed has for over 4000 years.

We live simply, under the shade of the giant oaks which lend us their name. My shepherd dogs live with me, part of the family, in-home, and pups are raised there as well... no kennel dogs here.

I take great pride in raising and training these CAO's as Therapy Dogs, as well as showing them (in addition to their natural work as guardians). The temperaments I breed for are calm, stable, sound, and conformation is correct. Health is my first concern in any breeding, they temperament, conformation, working ability, and show ability, in that order.

I have visited Central Asia and brought back quality imports of aboriginal parentage for my breeding program of documented champions/ working/ show/ therapy dogs. Recently, I imported World Champion, Aziat Best of Breed winner, Royal Gift of Asia's Nik Han as my primary sire. Together with my Champion girls, Angel and Peaches, both rated Excellent by FCI, we hope to breed superior pups that meet the standard of excellence we require as well as have the stable temperaments we adore.

We occasionally have pups for sale to select buyers who can provide proper homes by our standards.
